After a summer of renovations, a few hurdles and unexpected challenges we have opened our Toronto Art Gallery – James Rottman Fine Art.
On October 1, we launched our inaugural exhibition, “Ideas on Nature“, featuring selected works by Tony Urquhart, Lauren Blakey, Henry Saxe, Biba Esaad, Douglas Haynes, Monica Morrill, Vincenzo Pietropaolo, Aidan Urquhart, Charles Sucsan, Graham Peacock, Jessica Levman and Lloyd Fitzgerald.
We enjoyed a fantastic opening party with our guests, friends and community as well as a special “Artist’s Talk” event featuring Jessica Levman.
Visitors have not only enjoyed the artworks on exhibit but have made specific mention about how warm and welcoming the physical gallery space feels. This is exactly what we had envisioned for our gallery and community, a place where art lovers, artists and friends feel comfortable engaging with art and each other.
Our monthly mission at the gallery is to wow, shock and provoke our visitors with solo and group exhibitions of contemporary Canadian artists who offer unique and powerful visual narratives, as well as insightful statements on contemporary culture.
We are so excited to announce our upcoming solo exhibition, “Where We Go to Play“, showcasing the fantastic London artist, Aidan Urquhart. It opens on November 4 and runs until December 18.
We will be presenting a second exhibition simultaneously – “The Mid-Century Moderns” featuring select works by Rita Letendre, Hortense Gordon, Tom Hodgson, Ron Bloore, Art McKay, William Ronald, Michael Snow and Jean McEwen.
These two exhibitions will definitely entertain, provoke and capture your senses.
We look forward to welcoming you to our gallery in November to enjoy these wonderful new exhibitions and other events.
Please introduce yourself to James, the director of the gallery, and Benny, the gallery dog – they would love to meet you, talk art, talk life and enjoy the occasional belly rub.
